1 I earnestly pray’d for deliv’rance from sin,
And longed to be washed from defilement within;
To Jesus for pardon and cleansing I came,
And He saved me, hallelujah to His wonderful name!

Refrain:
He washed me, hallelujah!
He cleansed me, hallelujah!
He saved me, hallelujah to His wonderful name!

2 My feet had been treading the pathway of sin;
My robes were defiled and my spirit unclean;
I went to the Savior, the dear Son of God,
And He washed me and He cleansed me in His wonderful blood! [Refrain]

3 And now I’m rejoicing in Jesus my King,
And songs of thanksgiving unceasingly sing;
I praise and adore Him, the dear Lamb of God,
Who washed me and redeemed me in His wonderful blood! [Refrain]
