Homer Franklin Morris was born March 4, 1875 in Draketown, Georgia, to W. T. and Mary Morris. He was a Baptist, and was married to Elizabeth Kirk in 1898. His musical education was under A. J. Showalter, J. Henry Showalter, and J.B. Herbert. With J. M. Henson he formed the Morris-Henson Company in Atlanta which published gospel songbooks including the Crowning Hymns series. He later sold his interest and moved to Dallas to work for the Stamps-Baxter company. He died January 25, 1955. David Hamrick from Mrs. J.R.
