Mr. J. T. Cooper, associate of the Philharmonic Society, musical editor of the first issue of Bishope Bickersteth’s Hymnal Companion to the Prayer Book and also editor of the Church Tune Book), died a few years ago whilst organist of Christ Church, Newgate Street.
