"Len Dalton was a school teacher, preacher, and business man in later years. He taught school in Coryell and McLennan Counties before moving to the Hamilton area. He taught at Blue Ridge and Lamkin among other places. He was a Primitive Baptist preacher who served churches in Hamilton, Lamkin, Comanche, and Killeen. When he quit teaching, he bought an interest in a monument (tombstone) business and continued in that until he retired. The story is that you never knew how many people would be at their home for meals or over night because Len was gifted at inviting all to their home."
Len Dalton was the brother of Gilbert Dalton, another songwriter in the Primitive Baptist fellowship.
