Rosalind Brown (b1953) was born in Brighton, UK. After reading geography at UCL, she worked as a town planner for local authorities in the south of England. This included work to ensure the provision of access for disabled people in the built environment which helped to shape British legislation in the 1980s. She began writing hymn texts for her parish church in Oxfordshire in the 1980s and developed this after joining the Community of Celebration in Aliquippa, PA, where, among other musicians, she worked with Betty Carr Pulkingham. After gaining a MDiv from Yale Divinity School she was ordained in 1997 and served in the Community and as Vicar of St Thomas' Episcopal Church, Canonsburg PA.
