Thy Word, O Lord, forever is

Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 Thy word, O Lord, forever is The mirror where we see Our faults and duties as they are, Our likeness unto Thee. 2 Can we our imperfections see Without a humble sigh? Should we neglect God’s precious word And lightly pass it by? 3 His word obey and warning take; His wisdom will prevail. For if we know, and heed it not, It is of no avail. 4 Salvation through our faith is found; No works of law we need. Though baptized, yet our hope is vain If we His word don’t heed. 5 The wrath of God lies on the world, On whom its ways pursue, Yet grace enough is found in God To live in Him anew.
