This Is the Day of Grace

Representative Text

1 This is the day of grace,
This is the day of mercy.
Think of Thy heritage
Let nothing else divert thee.
Seek thou the highest prize
And strive toward the goal
Oh search for Jesus Christ
Today, and save thy soul.

2 The sun of mercy still
Today will shine upon thee;
And therefore heed God's will
Seek heaven's treasures only.
Let not this hour go past
Thou knowest time doth fly.
Oh come unto thy rest
Before the day goes by.

3 Oh overcome thy doubts
Wait not until tomorrow.
Today is thine, who knows
How much time thou canst borrow.
Cast all thy fears aside
Come to the Lord today
Let conscience be thy guide
And duty light the way.
4 The Lord gives thee today
And opens heaven's portal;
Who seeks the righteous way
Inherits life immortal.
Oh hear God's call today
It calls all men to grace
Yea, listen and obey
And mend thy sinful ways.

5 Ere the eternal day
Which is so near appeareth
And which to those who stray
Brings all they ever feareth,
But grace and mercy fall
On all who keep the faith.
Oh come and heed God's call
Before it is too late.
