God holds the key

Representative Text

1 There’s a door that leads to a future goal,
That will open for you and me;
But ‘twill only be as we trust in God,
For ‘tis He who holds the key.

Refrain:
God holds the key that will open the door,
To those who are faithful and true;
And if you will labor and love and trust,
‘Twill someday be opened for you.

2 There’s a rocky path to this door of hope,
And you’ll cross more than one rough sea,
But you’ll reach the goal, if your faith is fixed
In the One who holds the key. [Refrain]

3 You must tarry not, but enter in,
When the Master swings wide the door;
Lest the key be turned and you sadly learn
It has closed for evermore. [Refrain]
