The wine-red blood-sweat stains His tears. Behold Him now!

2 They mocked and wreathed the sin-born thorns to crown His brow;
They broke His flesh; the life poured down. Behold Him now!

Author: George W. Ewing

George Ewing earned an undergraduate degree at Abilene Christian University and M.A and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. He preached in Churches of Christ and served as a professor of English at Abilene Christian University from 1955 to 1992. He edited The Well-Tempered Lyre: Songs and Poems of the Temperance Movement (SMU Press).
