Blessed Gift

Representative Text

1 O Thou blessed gift from Heaven,
Words Thy worth can never tell!
Sweetest boon to mortals given,
Is our Lord Immanuel.

Refrain:
Blessed gift, O gift from Heaven,
Words Thy worth can never tell;
Sweetest boon to mortals given,
Blessed gift, Immanuel.

2 Thro’ the long and troubled ages,
Heaven’s precious promise fell;
All the words of seers and sages,
Told of Christ Immanuel. [Refrain]

3 God had loved, and God had spoken,
God had loved, and loved so well;
Lo! He sent the dearest token,
Lo! He gave Immanuel. [Refrain]
