My burden was so heavy

My burden was so heavy

Published in 2 hymnals

Representative Text

1 My burden was so heavy
Day and night I could not rest,
Till I heard Jesus saying,
"Come to Me and you'll find rest."

Refrain:
I was lost but Jesus found me,
I was dead but now I live;
Oh, glory, glory, glory,
To the great eternal God.

2 He brought me to His shelter,
And He cleansed my sins away,
Filled my heart with great gladness
That no one can take away. [Refrain]

3 If you want to be happy
And be saved to the uttermost,
Just repent and be baptized,
And receive the Holy Ghost. [Refrain]
