Thy Gentle Call

Representative Text

1 Lord, we hear Thy gentle call—
“Come follow Me, follow Me!”
And we gladly give our all
To follow Thee, follow Thee.
All our doubt, and fear, and sin,
All of self—what we have been—
Home and country, kith and kin,
To follow Thee, follow Thee.

2 Help, O help us, blessed Lord,
To follow Thee, follow Thee;
Ev’ry day in sweet accord,
To follow Thee, follow Thee.
Tho’ in weariness and pain,
Winter’s snow, or summer’s rain,
May we nevermore complain,
But follow Thee, follow Thee.

3 Keep us true to our high call
To follow Thee, follow Thee.
Strengthen, that we may not fall,
But follow Thee, follow Thee.
May we, round Thy feet, at last,
All our crowns of glory cast,
And, when earthly scenes are past,
Still follow Thee, follow Thee.
