Lob, Ehre, Preis und Dank sei Dir

Representative Text

1 Lob, Ehre, Preis und Dank sei Dir,
O Jesu, unser Leben!
Preiswürdig bist Du für und für,
Wer kann Dich g'nug erheben!
Du bist des Allerhöchsten Sohn
Und bist auf Deines Vaters Thron
Mit Ehr' und Ruhm gekrönet.
Durch Dich ist jede Kreatur,
Für Dich sind alle Dinge nur,
Du bist's, der sie versöhnet.

2 Und Du, o Herr, bist uns zugut
In diese Welt gekommen,
Du hast freiwillig Fleisch und Blut
Für Sünder angenommen.
Zum Opfer brachtest Du Dich dar,
Zu retten, was verloren war,
Wardst Du ein Fluch hienieden.
O Liebe, die nichts Gleiches hat!
Du selbst trugst unsre Missetat,
Erwarbst uns Deinen Frieden.

3 Drum Ehre, Preis und Dank sei Dir,
O Jesu, unser Leben!
Preiswürdig bist Du für und für,
Wer kann Dich g'nug erheben!
Du bist der Quell, der ewig quillt,
Die Fülle, die das Herz nur stillt,
Du bist die Lebenssonne.
Bald wirst Du uns zu Dir erhöhn,
Dann wird Dich unser Auge sehn
Zu ew'ger Freud' und Wonne.
