Buckle On the Armor

1 Life is one continued battle,
Never ended, never o’er;
And the Christian’s path to glory
Is a conflict evermore.

2 Christian, buckle on thine armor!
Let thy faith unshaken be;
Fight the fight—all heav’n shall greet thee
In the hour of victory!

3 Satan ever watches round him,
Seeks to find the weakest part,
And in moments most unheeded
Quickly throws his fiery dart.

4 If, perchance, thy heart grows weary
With the struggle and the fight,
If the day seems dark and dreary,
Look beyond, where all is bright.

5 Be the light but faint and feeble,
It shall guide thee evermore;
And at ev’ry battle leave thee
Stronger than thou wast before.
