All the way to Calvary

Just before the battle, Jesus

Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 Just before the battle, Jesus,
Entered dark, Gethsemane,
Leaving eight outside, took Peter
And the sons of Zebedee.
Oh, the anguish in the garden,
As again He left the three,
Then He went on a little farther,
All the way to Calvary.

Refrain:
Let us go a little farther,
Farther than we've gone before.
If we are workers now for Jesus
Let us do a little more.

2 See Christ praying, Hear Him groaning,
Death sweeps o'er Him like a flood,
Father, may this cup pass from me
Sweat rolled down like drops of blood,
Not my will, for I will drink it,
Let Thy will be done in Me,
Then He went on a little farther
All the way to Calvary. [Refrain]
