Representative Text

1 It is a very pleasant thing
To follow Christ our Lord;
And thus obey our heavenly King,
According to his word.

2 Down to the water side we go;
By Christ's example led;
Thus the same we come also,
As did our glorious head.

3 Saviour, we bless thy wondrous name,
For thy example bright;
We love to imitate the same,
As thou dost us invite.

4 We are baptized as Jesus was,
His easy yoke we bear;
And we are thus baptized because
That we his subjects are.

5 Lord may we to thy glory live,
Teach us thy heavenly ways;
To us thy holy Spirit give,
And we thy name will praise.

6 And we thy sacred name profess,
May we our moments spend
In ways of truth and righteousness,
Until our lives shall end.
