யாருக்கேனும் உதவினேனா?
யாரையேனும் நான் தேற்றிமகிழ்வித்தானா?
இல்லை என்றால் வீணன் நான்,
யார் சுமையாயினும் ஆம் லேசானதா?
நான் செய்ய முன் வந்ததினால்,
நோயுற்றோர்க்கும் ஆம் சேர்ந்தோர்க்கும் உதவினேனா?
அங்கே நான் இருந்தேனா?

பல்லவி:
எழுந்தே நீ ஏதேனும் செய்,
கனா நீ காண்பதெல்லாம் வீண்,
நன்மை செய்வது நன்று, ஆ ஆனந்தம் ஆனந்தம்,

Born: July 12, 1960, Danish Mission Hospital, Tirukovilur, Tamil Nadu, India. A fourth-generation Christian, Barathi is the son of E. Soundararajan (1932–1997), a Presbyterian pastor in Chennai for 47 years, and Ruby Viruthambal, and husband of Evelyn Priscilla Vasanthi. In 1986, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology (and passed Grade VIII Classical Guitar, Trinity College Exams at the Chennai Local Center). In 1989, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Church Music from the Asian Institute for Liturgy and Music in Manila, Philippines.
