1 IN the quiet solitude
My heart brings Thee gratitude.
Mighty God, oh, hear my plea,
For my soul is seeking Thee.
2 Never will Thy vigil cease,
Ne'er at rest, always at peace;
Ruling seasons and all time,
Lord above, our God sublime.
3 Gently falls the glist'ning snow,
Cov'ring all the world below;
Snow that disappears so fast,
Springlike breezes come at last.
4 All life knows the time and year,
Ruler over seasons here;
Summer, winter, spring and fall,
All await Thy glorious call.
5 Lord, I pray that my soul may
Know your guidance every day;
Oh, that Your eternal love
Brings me to You, God above.
6 Even though the world is cold,
Warmth I in my heart behold,
Praising God in grateful mood
In this quiet solitude.
