The Christian Path

Representative Text

1 Do not despise the christian path
That many faithful tread;
But join the ranks with willing hearts,
For Christ is at the head.

Refrain:
O let us walk in the paths of righteousness,
O go with steady tread,
Let no one falter by the way,
For Christ is at the head.

2 Go strive within the world of gloom,
To shed what light you may;
Remember that a flow’r may bloom,
‘Neath sunshine’s smallest ray. [Refrain]

3 Do not avoid the christian path,
Go do some deed of good;
Tho’ small it be, remember, ‘tis
By Jesus understood. [Refrain]

4 How many souls that walked this path,
Their hearts to Jesus giv’n,
Have swept across the Jordan’s tide
Within the gates of heav’n. [Refrain]

5 Do not forsake the christian path,
Its joys will all be thine,
And you shall dwell with Christ in heav’n;
Forever there to shine. [Refrain]
