Beside the throne of God most high

Representative Text

1 Beside the throne of God most high,
There flows a living stream,
How musical its dreamy tide,
How bright its waters gleam.

Chorus:
Oh, the water of life!
It is pure and free,
And it flows thro' the years
Of eternity.

2 The saints of God, forever blest,
Upon its bright banks stand;
By breezes soft and sweetly pure
Their brows are ever fanned. [Chorus]

3 They drink from that fair stream of life,
Their earthly toils are past;
They stand within the shining gates,
And heaven is gained at last. [Chorus]
