Representative Text

1. Altho’ back into His heaven
Jesus passed from earth away
When He ended here His life of toil and pain,
Yet with all His holy angels
At the breaking of the day,
He is coming once again to reign.

Refrain

Don’t you know He is coming,
He is coming, He is coming?
Don’t you know He is coming once again?
With His saints and His angels
He is coming by and by,
He is coming once again to reign.

2. Once He came among the lowly
As the Babe of Bethlehem,
When the angels sang so sweetly o’er the plain,
And once more upon this footstool
O’er the seed of Abraham,
Christ is coming once again to reign.

Refrain

3. Of His ruling at His coming
There will never be an end,
For His kingdom will forevermore remain;
O make ready to be with Him
When He shall at last descend,
For He’s coming once again to reign.

Refrain

Outside of the usual time spent in the public schools, Mr. Oatman received his education at Herbert's Academy, Princetown, N. J., and the New Jersey Collegiate Institute, Bordentown, N. J. At the age of nineteen he joined the M.E. Church, and a few years later he was granted a license to preach the Gospel, and still later he was regularly ordained by Bishop Merrill. However, Mr. Oatman only serves as a local preacher. For many years he was engaged with his father in the mercantile business at Lumberton… Go to person page >
