A mighty army true, Around the cross we stand

Author: James Rowe (1912)
Tune: [A mighty army true]
Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 A mighty army gtrue
Around the cross we stand,
All ready, too, to dare and do,
At God's divine command;
Whereever Jesus leads we follow with a will,
And now our seeds of kindly deeds
His orders to fulfill.

2 We never fear the foe,
For Jesus is our shield;
Come weal or woe, while here below,
To sin, we will not yield;
His love will keep us strong, His mighty arm defend;
However long the fight with wrong,
On Christ we will depend.

3 Thus far His love hath led
Our feet along the way;
Thus far the bread of life hath fed
Our souls from day to day;
And He will keep us true till all the snares are past;
Will guide us to the kingdom new,
And crown our souls at last.
