Birth Year: 1915

MacMillan, J. Buchanan (1915-- ). Native of Toronto, Canada. Son of missionary-author J.A. MacMillan. Graduate of Toronto Bible College and University of Toronto, 1941. Later Master of Music degree, Manhattan School of Music, 1953 and Doctor of Philosophy, New York University, 1966. Became member of music faculty, Nyack College, 1947 where he served as professor of music history, theory, and other church music courses. Co-editor of 1962 edition Hymns of the Christian Life, contributor of four hymns and many word and harmonic changes. Contributed fourteen music settings in the 1978 edition; including:
