Truman Beeman was born 4 May, 1760 in Kent, Conn. He was the son of Anna Beeman. He went into the military at the age of 15 and served various enlistments in the American Revolutionary War. He was pastor of some small Baptist churches in Madison County, New York. He compiled a couple hymnals, one of which is A Selection of Hymns from the Best Authors in Europe and America. He died 7 Nov, 1833 at Fenner, Smithfield Township, Madison Co., NY.
