1 Come now, ye great, before Jehovah, Bring honor to His Majesty! His mighty voice is heard with thunder; Sink down into the dust and pray! The mighty God shows forth His power, The thunders roll in clouds on high; His lightning flashes on the waters, And sudden torrents from the sky. 2 God’s voice resounds upon the waters, His thund’ring Word all things does shake; Proclaims His vengeance to His haters And causes earth and rocks to quake. With glory, majesty and power Resounds the threat’ning voice of God, With flaming message, thrilling shower, He shows to us His chast’ning rod. 3 O therefore, mankind, ev’ry nation, Abase yourself, do not delay! Observe this wondrous indication That soon will come a judgment day! The Lord, first threat’ning in a tempest, Will smite the world with curse and ban --- Oh, then repent and seek the Saviour, Who died to rescue sinful men! 4 The Lord is as a King exalted With wondrous might, and in the sky Has set His rainbow as a token That grace and mercy now is nigh. Therefore, ye nations, heed the counsel, His might and power recognize; He’ll change His wrath to grace and favor --- Give rest and peace in Paradise.
