110. O Lord, my light

1 O Lord, my light, In Thee I shall prevail; With Thee I am secure. I need not fear, Though Satan would assail; His trials I shall endure. The enemy I am not fearing; In steadfast faith to Thee I’m nearing. Thou art my light. 2 One thing I seek Far more than tongue can tell: That in Thy holy place With Thee, my God, I might forever dwell To praise Thee for thy grace. O, Lord, I wish to see Thy splendor! Prepare me now that I may enter Thy mansion bright. 3 Thou art my tow’r; In time of great distress I seek Thy realm of light; There I rejoice; Within this vale of tears, Sustain me with Thy might. Unto Thy name I’m honor bringing, And joyously Thy praises singing; Hallelujah! 4 Lord, do Thou hear My pleading and my pray’r! Thy word dwells in my heart. Thy grace does flow From Thy blest home on high. The shield of faith Thou art. Before Thy countenance appearing, In truth and spirit Thee I’m nearing; Oh, hear my pray’r! 5 Oh, lead Thou me Upon the narrow way, Lest I should stray from Thee! In Thee alone I place my trust each day; No mortal can help me. In Thee, my Lord, I am confiding; For me a home Thou art providing In realms of light.
