171-1. Hide Me In Thy Bosom

1 Jesus hears me praying,
He hears the words I am saying,
He moistens my soul with water from on high.
The world of sin around me, and none of these to bind me,
Jesus, if you leave I will die.

Refrain:
Hide me in Thy bosom till the storm of life is o'er
Rock me in the cradle of Thy love.
Jesus, feed me, Jesus, till I want no more,
Then take me to that blessed home above.

2 Lord make my journey brighter, and my burden lighter,
Help me to do good wherever I can.
Although my friends forsake me, and trouble comes to distress me,
Jesus hold me in the hollow of Thy hand. [Refrain]

3 Although I'm maintaining, going on uncomplaining,
Maybe before this time another year
My life, my all forsake me, and death may overtake me,
But, Jesus, if You are with me I have no need to fear.
