137. Under Thy Shadow

1 Saviour in mercy care for the dear ones
Gather’d before thee today,
Tenderly guide us. Lovingly hide us,
Under they shadow we pray.
Under Thy shadow nothing will harm us,
Faithfully trusting in Thee;
Safe in Thy keeping, walking and sleeping,
Ever Thy children will be.

2 Saviour in mercy watch o’er us kindly,
Lead us in safety we pray;
Close to Thee ever, grant that we never
From Thy protection may stray.
Under Thy shadow peacefully walking,
Seeking our treasure above;
Help us to praise Thee, joyfully praise Thee,
While we remember Thy love.

3 Under Thy shadow, blessed Redeemer
May we our journey pursue;
Doing in weakness, patience and meekness
What thou hast told us to do.
Still in Thy footsteps help us to follow,
Cheerfully on while we sing;
Glory to Jesus, glory to Jesus,
Praise Him our Saviour and King.
