292. Thou art my Shepherd

1 Thou art my Shepherd,
Caring in every need,
Thy little lambs to feed;
Trusting Thee still;
In the green pastures low,
Where living waters flow,
Safe by Thy side I go,
Fearing no ill.

2 Or if the way should lie
Where death o'erhanging nigh,
My soul would terrify
With sudden chill,--
Yet I am not afraid;
While softly on my head
Thy tender hand is laid,
I fear no ill!
