7. Now may the God of power and grace

Now may the God of power and grace
attend the people’s humble cry!
Lord, you will hear your children pray,
and bring deliverance from on high.

You well remember all our sighs;
such love exceeds our deepest hurts;
your love accepts the sacrifice
of humble sighs and broken hearts.

Some trust in horses trained for war,
and some of chariots make their boasts;
our surest expectations are
from you, the Lord of heavenly hosts.

You save us, Lord, from helpless fear;
now let our hope be firm and strong,
for your salvation will appear,
and joy and triumph fill our song!
