37. Trusting in God’s Promises

1 I am trusting in the promises,
As recorded in God’s Word;
They have been assailed but still they stand,
And I’ll never doubt my Lord.

Refrain:
I am trusting in the promises,
As recorded in His Word;
Tho’ the tempter may assail me,
I will never doubt my Lord,
I will follow, gladly follow on,
In the path which He has trod,
His promises uphold me,
I’ve a never-failing God.

2 I will never doubt the saving pow’r
Of the Christ of Calvary,
“I know whom I have believed,” still
Satisfied and strengthens me. [Refrain]

3 While I’m resting on the promises
I’ll be working to increase
On the earth the kingdom of my Lord
And the coming of His peace. [Refrain]
