26. No Night Without Its Morn

1 Long is the way of the earthly life,
But the longest of ways must end;
Heavy the task and fierce the strife,
Until clouds of peace descend.

Refrain:
What though the storm
In all its fury rages!
What though the night,
Be of the darkness born!
God’s book of life
Declares on all its pages,
No storm is endless,
No night without its morn.

2 High is the mountain the climbers scale,
For a glimpse of the view afar;
Long is the course a ship must sail,
But steady and true its star. [Refrain]

3 Steep is the path that the feet must go,
Where the sweet flower lifts its bell;
Deep is the sorrow hearts may know,
But sweet are the joys as well. [Refrain]
