114. They That Believe in the Lord Shall Live

1 They that believe in the Lord shall live,
Death can not enthrall;
This the assurance His word doth give,
Blessed hope for all.
If we are risen with Him today,
Death’s bars are broken and borne away;
Jesus is risen, His triumph we share,
Mansions await us there!

Refrain:
Just thru the gate, dear ones await,
Life in full glory is there, is there;
Lo, the gate will swing wide,
At the soul’s Eastertide,
And the joy of our Lord we’ll share.

2 They that believe in the Lord can sing
When the way is dim;
Storm clouds may bather, but joy-notes ring
As they walk with Him.
Victors with Him in the toil and strife,
Sharing the pow’r of His endless life;
Jesus is risen, then why should we fear,
Knowing that He is near? [Refrain]

3 They that believe in the Lord shall rest
When life’s day is done;
Dwelling with Him in the mansions blest,
Battles fought and won.
Victors forever with Christ the Lord,
Sharing His glory, their full reward;
Jesus is risen, and waits for us there,
Glory beyond compare. [Refrain]
