| Text: | Why Should I Fear? |
| Author: | Jessie F. Moser |
| Tune: | [Sometimes He leads thru pastures green] |
| Composer: | Ada P. Kimmell |
1 Sometimes He leads thru pastures green,
And by the waters still,
Where ferns and leafy branches lean
To kiss the rippling rill.
2 Sometimes He leads thru deserts bare;
Across the briny deep;
Mid tempests wild, and lightning’s glare;
And up the mountains steep.
3 But ev’rywhere, in shine and shade,
Upon the sea and land,
My Shepherd says, “Be not afraid”
For “I will hold thy hand.”
4 What reason, then, have I for fear?
His voice I will obey,
And follow, not “afar,” but near;
He leads me all the way.
