1 O Gottes Lamm,
Für Sünder hingeschlachtet!
Die Erde, die Du schufst, ach! sie trug Dein Kreuz.
Wer führte Dich herab,
In Armut, Elend, Tod und Grab?
Wir, Herr, die Dir gegeben
Dein Gott, mit Dir zu leben,
Mit Dir zu thronen ewiglich.
O Herr, wir preisen Dich!

2 O Gottes Lamm,
Du Quelle aller Freuden,
Bist unser, wir sind Dein, jetzt und ewiglich.
Hast teuer uns erkauft
Und uns mit Deinem Geist getauft.
Die Liebe zog Dich nieder,
Sie zieht zu Dir uns wieder.
Was wär' der Himmel ohne Dich,
Und alle Herrlichkeit?

3 Komm, Jesu, komm!
Wir sehnen uns, zu schauen
Dein Antlitz, teurer Herr, der uns Gott erkauft,
Und der, des Vaters Bild,
Sein Herz und Seinen Himmel füllt.
Wir seufzen Dir entgegen
Auf fremden Erdenwegen,
Bis unser Lob Dir voll ertönt,
O Lamm, das uns versöhnt!
