716. Sing, Children, Sing

1 Sing, children sing! sing, children sing!
Sing the joyful Easter story
How the mighty King of glory
Pass’d the everlasting doors,
Burst the tomb, and broke the bars,
Evermore to live on high
In the home beyond the sky.

2 Sing, children sing! sing, children sing!
Sing about that Easter morning,
When they came at early dawning,
And the stone was rolled away.
Sing the words the angels say,
“He is risen,—do not fear;
See the place—He is not here!”

3 Sing, children sing! sing, children sing!
Sing about the life immortal;
He has open’d wide the portal,
Calling us to enter in,
Safe from death and free from sin.
Joyfully receive the word
Of our blessed, risen Lord.
