28. As the Days Go By

1 Ev’ry day that dawns on earth below
Brings to us a gift of love,
Blessings that a Father’s hands bestow,
Sent us from His throne above.

Refrain:
His goodness, unceasing, is about us day by day,
His mercy, increasing, is our strength, our hope, our stay,
His bounty, unfailing, ev’ry need will soon supply,
His care is all-prevailing, as the days go by.

2 Ev’ry morning brings renewed delight,
Promise of His Presence near,
Guidance till the noonday and the night,
If we give Him trust sincere. [Refrain]

3 Let the day begin with earnest prayer,
Thank Him for each well-known sign,
Praise Him for the tokens ev’rywhere,
Telling of His love divine. [Refrain]
