17089. He Is Coming By and By

1. Careless pilgrim, now arise,
For the daylight swiftly flies,
And the clock of time will strike the promised hour.
When the Master shall appear,
And with shining ones draw near,
In the fullness of His glory, light and pow’r.

Refrain

He is coming, coming,
He is coming in His glory by and by;
Are we ready for the Bridegroom?
We will meet Him in the sky;
He is coming in His glory, by and by.

2. Let us watch, and work, and pray,
Let us walk the narrow way,
For the Lord will come some day, to call His own;
O for grace to serve Him more,
Till on wings of love we soar,
And with rapture greet the Lamb upon the throne.

Refrain

3. Our redemption draweth nigh,
Let us lift our eyes on high,
More and more that "blessèd hope" will cheer the soul;
Trusting in the Savior’s blood,
Washed in Calv’ry’s healing flood,
We shall praise Him while eternal ages roll.

Refrain
