1. We’re soldiers, and we’re marching on
To our Immanuel’s land;
With music we will pass along,
A happy, faithful band.

Refrain

"Glory!" we sing to Christ our king,
While we His temples throng;
Let "Glory in the highest!" be
Our everlasting song.

2. We’ve foes to fight, we’ve fields to win,
We’ve crowns of life to gain;
Then strike and conquer every sin,
The victory attain.

Refrain

3. We’ll take the helmet, sword and shield;
Begirt with truth and love,
We’ll fight, nor ever quit the field
Till called to rest above.

Refrain

4. Salvation shall our helmet be,
Our breastplate, love and faith;
Clad in this glorious panoply,
We’ll all fight on till death.

Refrain

5. Then, when the vict’ry we attain,
We’ll lay our laurels down
Before the Lamb that once was slain
To win for us a crown.
