1 Steadily advancing,
See the banner wave,
Jesus is the leader,
Forward march the true and brave;
Naught can e’er deter them,
All His loving face would see,
Follow His example,
On to victory.

Refrain:
Steadily advancing,
See the banner wave,
Steadily advancing,
Forward march the true and brave,
Steadily advancing,
Who will join the bright array?
Follow Christ the leader,
On to victory.

2 Steadily advancing,
Join the bright array,
Christ the Lord is calling,
Let all come without delay;
Do not fear the battle,
Let the Saviour’s will be done,
Follow where He leads you,
And the battle’s won. [Refrain]

3 Steadily advancing,
Fight till all is o’er,
You will share the mansions,
Where you’ll need to fight no more;
So while on your marching,
Always strive to do your best,
Soon you’ll be with Jesus,
With the ransom’d blest. [Refrain]
