1 In this quiet sacred hour,
Gathered round the mercy seat,
Waiting for the Spirit’s pow’r,
Low we bow at Jesus’ feet.

2 Meeting in His precious name,
In our midst will He appear;
And a blessing each may claim,
For His promised word is clear.

3 Thanking Him for mercies past—
Mercies, morning, noon and night;
Grace that daily holds me fast,
Strength and will to do the right.

4 Pardon for our sins we ask,
Vict’ry o’er the tempter’s power;
Wisdom for the daily task,
Guidance in the darkest hour.

5 Precious moments thus to spend
In communion with our Lord;
Prayer and praise to sweetly blend,
With the reading of His word.

6 Loving Saviour, dearest Friend,
We adore and worship Thee;
May Thy grace our steps attend,
Till we reach our home with Thee.
