1 Jesus! Thy pure love preserve me
From false teachings that unnerve me.
Let Thy Spirit truth impart,
Enter deep within my heart.

2 Thou know'st I am often tempted
And from sin am not exempted.
Thy love and Thy strength assure
That all trials I will endure.

3 Let me then be persevering,
Jesus' teachings e'er revering;
Let no base desire or sin
Overpower me and win.

4 Guard me e'er from tongues deceitful,
Thou know'st that Thy strength is needful.
Lead me as Thou hast before,
Help me conquer sin once more.

5 Let me recognize temptation
And deceitful, false persuasion.
Let my faith be sure and strong
In the fight against all wrong.

6 Jesus, hear my supplication,
Thine shall be all adoration.
That I may victorious be
Grant Thy pure love unto me.
